Let's talk about Maps
My love affair with maps began in my youth, reading National Geographic and collecting Ordnance Survey Landranger maps. I used my pocket money to buy a framed Saxton Map of my home county, Dorset (see image), which hangs in my office to this day
A long career in the geospatial industry followed, and I've witnessed many changes from paper to digital, the advent of GIS, the arrival of the internet and Google Maps, and the explosion in earth observation from space.
Here I offer back some personal thoughts and opinions on the fascinating and continually evolving map interpretations of our world, and perhaps others!
